Eine Mulde oder ein Blow-Off-Ventile dient zum schnelleren Beschleunigen beim Schalten mit Turbofahrzeugen. Beim Umschalten, Zurücknehmen oder Ablassen von Gas entsteht im Luftsystem ein Überdruck. Mit einer Abwurffalle wird der überhöhte Turbodruck aus dem Einlasssystem entfernt, sodass Ihr Turbo auf Drehzahl bleibt. Wenn das Gaspedal erneut gedrückt wird, dauert es weniger Zeit, bis der Turbodruck wieder aufgebaut wird.
