The 3.0 Liter S58 turbo engine on BMW M models is equipped with an indirect charge air cooling circuit. The cooling of the charged air is thus achieved by a water-cooled intercooler integrated directly into the intake manifold.
The new WAGNERTUNING hybrid-carbon intake manifold with integrated intercooler has a special core, which was specially developed for the high demands of the S58 engine and offers 50% more external core volume compared to the original intercooler.
The calculated ratio between the inner and outer cooling surface generates maximum heat transfer and at the same time the best possible internal airflow.
Using CFD simulations, the CNC-machined endtanks were designed for optimal airflow conditions.
The result is excellent cooling with minimal back pressure. Therefore, this kit is also perfect for racing use.

WAGNER Intercoolers zijn leverbaar als Performance en Competition. Het verschil zit in het type gebruikte gaas. Bij de Performance is dat "Bar & Plate" en bij de Competition "Tube Fin".
Daarnaast zijn er nog 3 verschillende volumes: EVO1, EVO2 en EVO3.
EVO1 is ontwikkeld om gebruikt te worden in combinatie met de originele turbolader met als resultaat een zeer efficiënte koeling van de inlaatlucht. EVO2 en EVO3 hebben een grotere volume en gaan prima samen met de toename van inlaatlucht na een turbolader upgrade. Afhankelijk van het systeem worden ook de in- en uitlaat diameters vergroot.
Deze intercoolers worden met de benodigde siliconen slangen geleverd.
