As a result, the charge air cooling process is not carried out (as usual) using the ambient air as a cooling medium, but with the aid of a separate cooling water circuit. A reduction in the cooling water temperature can therefore be directly equated with improved charge air cooling performance. The newly developed competition racing mesh of the WAGNERTUNING high performance water cooler increases the cooling volume of the standard water cooler by 117%. The ratio between inner and outer cooling surface generates a maximum heat transfer and at the same time allows the adjacent components (e.g. the engine water cooler behind it) sufficient air flow for its heat exchange. Furthermore, with the help of the increased amount of cooling water, the entire system thermics can be kept at a lower level over a longer period of time.
