The 2.9 liter V6 biturbo engine (VW EA839) of the Audi RS4 and RS5 models is equipped with an indirect charge air cooling circuit. The cooling process of the charge air is consequently realized by a water-cooled charge air cooler, which is replaced by the WagnerTuning high-performance charge air cooler.

The WAGNERTUNING high-performance charge air cooler has a new type of performance mesh with the dimensions 222 mm x 200 mm x 120 mm. This was developed specifically for the high demands of the RS4/RS5 engine and offers 185% more external mesh volume compared to the original intercooler. The ratio between internal and external cooling surface used here generates maximum heat transfer and at the same time allows the best possible internal airflow. The cast aluminum end boxes were designed in CAD and optimized with the help of CFD simulations. The result is excellent cooling properties at lowest backpressure. Thus, this kit is also suitable for racing. An optimal cooling of the charged air with a significant increase in performance!

All WAGNERTUNING intercoolers are equipped with a heat-conducting anti-corrosion coating, so that a lasting cooling effect is ensured. The installation of the system is also uncomplicated and plug & play with the help of our installation instructions.

The 2.9L V6 biturbo engine of the Audi RS4 / RS5 is equipped with an indirect charge air cooling circuit. Consequently, the cooling process of the charge air is not realized (as usual) with the ambient air as a cooling medium, but with the help of a separate cooling water circuit. A reduction in the cooling water temperature can therefore be directly equated with improved charge air cooling performance. This is exactly where the advantages of the WAGNERTUNING Upgrade water cooler come into play.

The newly developed competition racing mesh of the WAGNERTUNING high-performance water cooler increases the cooling volume of the standard water cooler by a total of 55%. The ratio between inner and outer cooling surface generates maximum heat transfer and at the same time allows the adjacent components (e.g. the engine water cooler behind it) sufficient air flow for its heat exchange. Furthermore, the water coolers are equipped with a heat-conducting anti-corrosion coating to ensure a long-lasting cooling effect.
