The 2.9 liter V6 biturbo engine (VW EA839) of the Audi RS4/RS5 models is equipped with an indirect charge air cooling circuit. The cooling process of the charge air is consequently realized by a water-cooled intercooler, which is replaced by the WagnerTuning high-performance intercooler.

The WAGNERTUNING high-performance charge air cooler has a new type of performance mesh with the dimensions 222 mm x 200 mm x 120 mm. This was developed specifically for the high demands of the RS4/RS5 engine and offers 185% more external mesh volume compared to the original intercooler. The ratio between internal and external cooling surface used here generates maximum heat transfer and at the same time allows the best possible internal airflow. The cast aluminum end boxes were designed in CAD and optimized with the help of CFD simulations. The result is excellent cooling properties at lowest backpressure. Thus, this kit is also suitable for racing. An optimal cooling of the charged air with a significant increase in performance!
