K&N Filter Schoonmaakset KN 995000 De K&N reinigingsset bestaat uit een spuitbus olie van 190 ml en een knijpflesje reiniger van 300 ml. De gebruiksaanwijzing zit in de verpakking. K&N luchtfilterreiniger is het enige schoonmaakmiddel dat geschikt is om K&N filters uit te wassen. Het gebruik van andere schoonmaakmiddelen kan tot gevolg hebben dat het katoen beschadigd wordt en dus de garantie doet vervallen. De K&N reiniger is biologisch afbreekbaar en tast kleur, chroom, aluminium, plastic en rubber niet aan. De schoonmaak instructies staan op het flesje afgedrukt. Speciaal voor K&N katoenen filters ontwikkelde filterolie. Deze olie zorgt ervoor dat het katoen licht-rood van kleur wordt, zodat de ingeöliede delen te herkennen zijn. Gebruiksaanwijzing voor het inolieën staat op de verpakking afgedrukt. Hoe vaak moet het K&N filter worden gereinigd? K&N luchtfilters zijn hoge kwaliteits filters, zowel in luchtdoorlaat als filterwerking. De onderhoudsintervallen hangen sterk van de toepassing af. Het kan zijn dat een filter bij rally-cross om de 150 km schoongemaakt moet worden en bij een personenauto pas na 200.000 km. Op z’n laatst dient een K&N filter schoongemaakt te worden als er een vuillaag van 2-3 mm ontstaan is. Plaatsing van het filter Nadat het filter geplaatst is dient nogmaals gecontroleerd te worden of het filter ook goed afdicht en bijvoorbeeld geen valse lucht aanzuigt. Gebruik nooit benzine, paraffine, verdunningsmiddel enz. Het luchtfilter niet met hoge druk schoonspuiten. Alleen K&N filterolie gebruiken, aangezien normale smeerolie het katoen beschadigd en de luchtdoorlaat hindert. Overmatig inolieën Na het schoonmaken van het filter dient u erop te letten dat het filter niet overmatig ingeölied wordt. Doe altijd weinig olie op het filter en laat de olie inwerken. Indien er dan nog plekken zijn die niet rood gekleurd zijn, alleen deze plekken opnieuw inolieën. Te veel olie belemmert de luchtdoorlaat. Zorg ervoor dat het filter bij inbouw niet meer druppelt, dit kan tot gevolg hebben dat de filterolie in het luchtinlaatsysteem bijv. de luchthoeveelheidsmeter komt.
