The end boxes of the intercooler are made of cast aluminum and were optimized with the help of flow analyses in the CFD system. The EVO 1 intercooler kit is suitable for the first power stages of the BMW 35i engines. This intercooler causes less back pressure than the stock intercooler. The newly developed Competition high-performance mesh still grants sufficient airflow to the adjacent components, such as the water cooler, and is also very light (7.4kg). CAD-developed free-form cast aluminum end boxes for the best possible internal airflow. Overall, this intercooler has far less back pressure than the stock intercooler. Competition Intercooler Kit EVO3 for BMW E89 Z4 35i(s). The high performance intercooler features mesh dimensions of 510mm x 303mm x 180mm (stepped 20.65L), providing a 162% larger flow area, as well as 182% more intercooler volume compared to the original intercooler. The Competition high performance mesh is a high quality Tube Fin mesh with internal turbulators. Despite its size, the total weight of the intercooler is only 13.2kg. The end boxes of the intercooler are made of cast aluminum and have been optimized using flow analysis in the CFD system. The intercooler kit EVO3 was developed directly for the high demands of the large tuning levels on the BMW Z4 35i(s). The original click connections were eliminated and the connection diameters at the inlet and outlet were expanded to Ø70mm. Therefore, the kit includes two reinforced silicone hoses. The result is excellent cooling properties with the lowest back pressure. In addition, all our intercoolers have an anti-corrosion coating with heat conduction properties. This guarantees long-lasting and optimum cooling with a significant increase in performance.
