The Competition intercooler EVO 2 has the following net dimensions (520x210x150/staged 13,572cm³) and thus offers an 85% larger inflow area, as well as 90% more intercooler volume compared to the original intercooler. The Competition high performance mesh is a high quality Tube Fin mesh with internal turbulators. Despite its size, the total weight of the intercooler is only 7.4kg. The end boxes of the intercooler are made of cast aluminum and were optimized using flow analysis in the CFD system. The original click connections were eliminated and the connection diameters at the inlet and outlet were expanded to Ø70mm. Therefore, the kit includes 2 reinforced silicone hoses. The intercooler kit EVO 2 was developed directly for the high demands of the BMW N54 & N55 engines. The result is excellent cooling characteristics with the lowest back pressure. The cooling of the charged air is thus achieved by a water-cooled intercooler integrated directly into the intake manifold.
